Nicholas J. Walter
Partner

Nicholas J. Walter is a trial lawyer. At a time when most civil cases settle and many litigators go years without facing a jury, Nick has built his practice around the courtroom. A core member of Frazier Law’s Business Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice, and Frazier Law’s Chief Trial Counsel, he handles commercial disputes from the first demand letter through verdict, including breach of contract, tortious interference, fraud, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, and negligence claims. His clients range from individuals to large national companies in construction, energy, education, investing, healthcare, utilities, exotic car sales, and real estate.
Nick thrives in front of a jury, and his results show it. He has first-chaired civil jury trials to unanimous verdicts totaling millions for his clients. In 2024, he first-chaired a complex tortious interference case involving overlapping corporate entities and won a unanimous $2.26 million verdict, one of the ten largest civil verdicts in Arizona that year. That same year he first-chaired a negligence jury trial to a unanimous verdict for his client, and in 2023, after his closing argument in a breach of contract case, the jury unanimously found for his client on liability and damages, awarding more than $100,000.
Prior to joining Frazier Law, Nick practiced at a business litigation boutique in Phoenix, where his practice focused on jury trials, commercial litigation, and business law. From 2021 to 2023, he also served as head coach of the Trial Team at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, training law students in the courtroom skills he uses every day.
Nick’s ties to Frazier Law run deep. He has been friends and colleagues with many of the firm’s attorneys for years, going back to their time together at ASU Law, where they were active in student organizations together, and where he and Managing Partner Grant Frazier co-authored a law journal article on regulatory sandboxes, published in the Dartmouth Law Journal in 2021.
Nick’s courtroom record began before he was admitted to the bar. As a Rule 38 limited practice attorney in a prosecutor’s office, he first-chaired ten trials to verdict and won convictions in all ten. He has not stopped trying cases since.
Nick earned his J.D., cum laude, from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2020, where he served as an editor on four law journals, competed in moot court and mock trial, and was an active member of the Federalist Society. He received the Bill Jones ABOTA Trial Award and the CALI Award for the top grade in the Prosecution Clinic, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, and was named a William H. Pedrick Scholar and a Blackstone Fellow. He earned his B.A. from Oakland University in 2016.
Nick has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch in Commercial Litigation and in Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships) (2025 and 2026), and he has been named a Super Lawyers® Rising Star each year from 2024 through 2026.
Outside the office, Nick serves in his church, plays football, golf, and softball, and spends time with his wife and two sons.
