Managing Partner Grant H. Frazier has been selected as Co-General Counsel of National Collegiate Rugby Organization, Inc. ("NCR"), the largest collegiate rugby organization in the world. In this role, Grant advises NCR on legal, governance, and organizational matters as the association continues to grow rugby worldwide.

For Grant, this appointment is personal. Long before he stepped into a courtroom, he was stepping onto the rugby pitch. As a student-athlete at Pomona College, Grant laced up for the Claremont Colleges Men's Rugby team for four seasons, serving as captain every year — a first in the program's more than 100-year history. He was twice named team Most Valuable Player, and during and following his tenure, the Claremont Lions became the most dominant sports program across the five Claremont Colleges. The team advanced to the 15s national Elite Eight or further six times and captured the NSCRO 15s National Championship in 2017 and 2019 and the NSCRO 7s National Championship in 2018. Grant turned down a professional rugby contract to attend law school, but the game never left him.
Now, as Co-General Counsel, Grant advises NCR on legal, governance, and organizational matters as the association continues to grow rugby worldwide. It is a role that brings together the two pursuits that have defined his career: the law and the sport that shaped him as a competitor, leader, and advocate.
"The qualities that make for a good team captain and a good lawyer are remarkably similar," Grant has said. "Integrity, ambition for the betterment of the team, sound judgment, a collaborative nature, and superior communication skills."
