Frazier Law, PLLC shares with great excitement that John N. Thorpe has joined the Firm as a Partner.  He will lead Frazier Law’s Appellate Practice and is a valued member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group.

He represents clients in areas including constitutional law, business disputes, education law, complex commercial litigation, personal injury, and government relations.  John has served as lead counsel in numerous state and federal appellate courts, including the Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court.

John’s clients benefit from his intimate understanding of the federal court system, his passion for legal writing, and his background in sophisticated, high-stakes litigation. Having served as lead counsel on high-profile cases and made countless media appearances on behalf of clients and advocacy groups, John also has a deep understanding of public relations, communications strategy, and crisis management.

John graduated magna cum laude from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he was an Articles Editor on the Arizona State Law Journal, and an active member of various student groups.  After graduation, John clerked for the Honorable Carolyn B. McHugh on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, then for the Honorable Bridget S. Bade on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  He also worked at a large law firm, where he focused on complex litigation, class actions, appeals, and Indian law.

Before joining Frazier Law, John worked at the Goldwater Institute, where he litigated against the government in the areas of free speech, education law, administrative law, taxpayer protection, and property rights. John was also involved in the Institute’s policy work, including drafting bills on regulatory reform and advising on a range of other policy issues.

John also serves on the board of directors for the Phoenix chapter of the Christian Legal Society, and on the Governing Board for Great Hearts Arizona, a network of classical, liberal-arts charter schools.  Before law school, John taught junior-high and high-school Latin, economics, and humanities.

John enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and cooking.

John is a fantastic counselor, leader, and person. Frazier Law is excited and fortunate to have him as part of the team.
